In Bloom, I created a series of vignettes made up by floating freshly cut flowers in a disintegrated gold-leafed glass bowl. The flowers’ sensual quality and vivid colors were placed against the decayed glass bowl. The bowl’s continued disintegration and imperfection provided me a rich background to these vignettes. I was looking to capture the precise moments, where light, movement, and color would express the tension between the temporary nature of beauty and its enduring spirit in the face of disintegration.
